This is the date that 100 years ago the extension of Hastings Tramways
into Bexhill and Cooden opened. We celebrated this by having a bus run from the Bexhill Yacht Club to the Cooden
Beach Hotel. At the front of the procession was a 1/2 scale tram built by club member Nigel Chapman. At the Cooden
Beach Hotel the Mayor of Bexhill unveiled a commemorative painting by Mike Turner and a plaque. Below is an approximate
time guide of the day's events
From 11am The
vehicles gathered at the Bexhill Yacht Club in Bexhill
12noon The bus run started at Bexhill Yacht Club in Bexhill.
From here it traveled along to the Cooden Beach Hotel in Cooden.
12.30pm The buses arrived at the Cooden Beach Hotel.
1.00pm The Mayor of Bexhill unveiled a commemorative painting
by Mike Turner and a plaque in the Cooden Beach Hotel.
